*STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT* *AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY* *UPDATES ON PLAGIARISM TEST* *RE: Plagiarism test for final year students.* _The above is no longer a strange news within the student community. If you recall, on the 12th day of October or thereabout, a release was made by the directorate of quality assurance and linkages on the above subject matter._ _The release amongst other things stated that effective from the 2018/2019 academic session, the university will introduce plagiarism test for long essay(project work) of all undergraduate students. The release also stated that the 'test' would be a fee to be determined._ _It is on the above premise that the executive council of the students union government led by Osamagbe Eghobamien (president of the SUG AAU) approached the vice chancellor this afternoon in a bid to convey the complains and plight of the students on the issues. Remarkably, the union addressed the fee for the test, and the applicability of the test in the current(2018/2019) academic session. After much deliberations, the vice chancellor agreed to the following:_ *1. That the fee for the test be and is hereby reduced to the sum of N2000 (two thousand naira only).* *2. That being a novel idea, the test will only serve as a test run. For the purpose of clarity, the rule as to minimum 60% originality which marks pass rate, will not serve as a determinant factor for deciding who graduates or not for the current (2018/2019) academic session.* All other details as release by the directorate remain unchanged. _Today's event is another reminder that the Osamagbe led administration remains committed to addressing and advocating the interest and welfare of her students._ _Signed_ *COMR. NGOZICHUKWU JEREMIAH* *DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION, SUG AAU* ** *For the union.*
